Music Concerts Extraordinaire!!!! (x5)

About a month ago we started going to all the children's music concerts at school. We started with Eric's then the next week was Emma's. A week later we went to Heidi's band concert then to Meagan's all-state choir concert and then finished with Meagan's high school choir concert. The first picture here is Meagan with Alex (the other girl that went to All-State Choir from her school). They sang a solo/duet together that was absolutely beautiful!!! They were all good and fun to watch and listen. I am a very proud mama to see my children do so well in their music.

"I hope I catch the Leprechaun!!!"

Eric's class was assigned to make a leprechaun trap. We have made these for all the kids and I think a few have even had to make 2. The morning started with everyone trying to find green to wear. Emma's first words out of her mouth when she woke up was "Did the Leprechaun come last night?" I said, "No" and she was very disappointed. I told her that we were all home and some were awak until very late but that maybe he might come during the day.Eric was very excited to get to school to show off his leprechaun trap. There were several very cute traps in his class. He is hoping that today he finds that he caught one yesterday after he left school to come home. Emma said the leprechaun came to her class and knocked over one boy's desk and left gold pieces and shamrocks every where. We were all surprised that a leprechaun did come to our house while I was out shopping. The rooms were decorated with shamrocks and green candy. They couldn't believe it!!! Unfortunately the leprechaun always forgets to bring something for mom! This morning Eric and Emma were anxious to see if their traps were good and they caught the LEPRECHAUN! I hope they caught one too because they said they would share some of the gold with ME!!!!!

Dribble, Shoot, Score!!!

Emma has always watched her big sister Heidi play all kinds of sports and has wanted to play also. The problem is that Emma also likes to sing and dance like her big sister Meagan. We don't want her too involved and that has made it hard to see which things Emma really wants to do. We finally decided to give in and let her try out basketball this year. She LOVES it. She can hardly wait until she can play again in the fall. She made huge improvement during the season. She could hardly dribble basketball when she started and ended up being one of the point guards for her team. Even though her team only won 1 game she still had a blast. Here are a few pictures from some of her games this season. Her team was called the Firecrackers!!
Here she got a fast break and was trying to get down to her basket. Sometimes she couldn't control the ball while she was running so fast.
Here she is point guard and calling out the play that was #1. You can tell that she was getting better control when she was dribbling as the season went on.

In this picture you can't really see her because she had just got the rebound and is behind the other girls.

Here she is trying to get around and the other team and not let the ball go out of bounds.

Overall, Emma was fast and wanted to play the entire game. She never wanted to take a rest and she scored a few points for her team. Way to go EMMA!!!!! I am anxious to see her continue on with this sport and see how well she will do.
