Eagle Fun Days

Every year in Eagle they have their Eagle Fun Days and one of the highlights is the Wet-n-Wild Parade. There are the floats that go through first then every one gets out their water squirters and lets loose. Both the floats and the spectators get WET!!!!!! It is so much fun. The beginning of the parade is all these cool old cars then it is local businesses and then finally the big trucks of water!!! This year we had an awesome spot with Heidi's volleyball coach. Her father-in-law owns a dentist office in the perfect spot and they had tons of containers with water to refill the squirters with. The girls all came home soaked and Eric was just a little wet. He definitely likes to squirt people but hates getting wet back. I guess we will have to work on that with him

Piano and Voice Recital

After school got out for the summer, all the kids had their final piano recital. They had been working on their songs for a few weeks and were all ready. Eric was the first to play and did pretty good since this was his very first recital. He got a little flustered when he couldn't find his second song in his book but he found it and played great! Then Emma was next in our family. She also did good. Meagan sang 2 songs. One with another girl that was nervous to sing by herself and then another all by herself. It almost seemed like it was the Meagan Larson show with her getting up and singing several times and also playing the piano. Her voice is absolutely beautiful and I hope you all get a chance to hear her sing sometime. Then Meagan played her piano piece and last but certainly not least was Heidi. She was the second to last to play. They all did a great job. I really love hearing them all practicing their piano pieces and it fills our home with a beautiful sound!!!

Emma the Author

This year at the end of third grade Emma got to write, illustrate and publish her very own story. Emma wrote a story called Rowan Massy. It was about a little girl that has 2 older sisters and 1 younger brother. Her older sisters are always mean to her and try to get her in trouble even when she is doing everything right. (Sound like anyone you know?) The illustrations are all very cute and so is the story. Then the last week of school they had an author's tea where all the parents were invited to hear the children's stories. Emma was first and read hers with expression and showed us the illustrations. She did an awesome job. Who knows, maybe we have another budding author just like her older sister Meagan!

Girls Trip to Seattle

Tracey got to go to Seattle with her mom and several of her sisters for a long weekend. Every year we try to get together without the rest of our families and just have a good time. We try to go to some place fun every other year and the off years we do a scrapbook weekend. We got to meet with our great Uncle Ed Clay. He is 94 years old. He has always been very interested in my mom and her family. He has always been very generous to all of us when we graduated, got married or had children. It has been many years since I have seen him and it was very cool to get to visit with him. Another cool part was that we got to meet some of my mom's cousins that we had never met and she got to visit with her cousin Ed Jr that she hasn't seen since she was 6!!! The next day we went to Victoria, BC Canada. We got to take a 3 hour ferry ride there and then went to Butchart Gardens. After that we went shopping or whatever we wanted for a few hours before we had to catch the ferry back to Seattle. Mom, Tino and I went to Miniature World. It was fun going back to Victoria again at a different time of year. David and I took Meagan and Heidi when Heidi was only a few months old and the flowers that were in bloom were different this time. Friday we went to the Pike Market and we ate at this funny looking "Pig Mobile". It was really good pork bbq. Then on Saturday we went up to the top of the Space Needle. It was the perfect day to go because the weather was the best and there was some blue skies. It was a fun time to get away and get to laugh and hang out with my mom and sisters!!

The Prophet said to plant a garden....

Every year we spend one evening planting a garden. We didn't get to do this the last 2 years because we were in China. Everyone was excited to decide what we would plant. We all went out after dad had got our plot all ready and all the kids helped dad plant the seeds. (mom took pictures) It has been so rainy though and not very much sun that we haven't seen anything start to grow. I hope the sun comes soon because we are anxious to see some plants growing!!!
