This week has been one filled with lots of music. I love that my children all love music and are learning more every year. On Sunday we had the kids piano and voice recital.
Then on Tuesday Heidi had her band concert
and Meagan had her choir concert. They had both concerts on the same night so it was a very long night for us. But it was still good. The worst part was that Meagan had a cold and was barely able to sing. She kept coughing throughout the entire concert. To make sure she could sing she didn't talk at school the whole day. She also played "Silent Night" on the piano while the band played, and the choir and the congregation sang. Most of the time my kids really like performing for others so ask them to play or sing for you if you get the chance. Then on Saturday night, Eric and Emma had their TaVaci concert.
This is a little singing and dance group that they love going to every Thursday. Eric always wakes up on Thursday and asks me if I know what day it is. I always respond with Thursday and he says "nope, it's Tavaci day." Emma sang, "Where are you Christmas" with a small group of girls
and Eric had a speaking part. An older girl says she has heard that Eric is really smart and asks him if he wants to show the audience how smart he is. He nods his head yes and she asks, "Who says 'Fly the Friendly Skies'?" Eric responds with "United". Then she says, "Who says, 'Don't leave home without it?'" Eric says, "American Express" and then lastly she asks, "Who says 'Just Do It'?" and Eric's response is, "Mommy!!"
It was very cute!! All my kids did a fantastic job this week on their performances!!!!
We all came in and sang to her except Eric who was too tired and being very cranky. We told him he had hurt Meagan's feelings by not singing to her and while we were downstairs getting our breakfast he said he was sorry to Meagan. Meagan got lots of fun presents for her birthday. Mostly it was just clothes that she had picked out 
but she also got a matching hair dryer and straightener that everyone knows is just hers from her grandma and grandpa Lawson.
She also got some money from her grandma and grandpa Larson. She wanted to go and see Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel as a family for her birthday 
then it was off to dinner with just mom and dad. We went to Carinos for some yummy pasta. We dragged Meagan along for a little bit of shopping then ended her day with dessert at a new yummy place called Spoon Me. It was a great day!!!
One of the highlights was what Santa brought Meagan. The children all come down one at a time from youngest to oldest to see what Santa brought them. They were all excited and wanted to tell Meagan what she got but we had to SHHHH!!! them all. She was very surprised to see this, though. 
After we checked out the wii we started opening our presents. They all got some fun things that they wanted.
Then we opened our stockings which were filled with little presents and everyone's favorite candies. 
It didn't take long for the kids to ask to play some of the wii games. 
By the end of the day, they all knew they didn't want to be on Mom's Mariokart team because she always comes in last place.
They all loved playing the Beatles songs with dad on Rockband 
and they said that it was a GREAT Christmas!!!!
David went out with his brother Dean to see Avatar in 3D. Emma went to spend the night with her cousin Ari in American Fork and Heidi went to a very large carol sing along in the Delta Center with Aunt Alicia, Uncle Ben and Kaden. Then there was an adult sibling party with David and his parents and brothers and sisters. Not quite as wild and loud as the night before but still very fun. Then Tuesday we got up and went to get Emma and we saw "The Princess and the Frog." We invited Dean and his family to see it with us. Very cute movie and everyone loved it. It started to snow on Tuesday and we still needed to see the lights at Temple Square. 
The lights were so beautiful with the new fallen snow on them and our favorite red tree was back!!! Yeah!!!!! 
We came home on Wednesday to spend the first Christmas in our own home in 3 years! It was a quick trip but worth it.
There was lots of candy eating, frosting snitching and lots of laughs.
You can tell that this was serious business for some 
and just plain fun for others. 
After we were all done creating our houses then we sang a few Christmas carols and handed out the jars of candy to the winners!!!
The house was crazy, loud and crowded but we had a BLAST!!!!!
It was tons of fun and everything went smoothly. A few months ago I was called to be on the activities committee in our ward and I thought this would be a fun party. We got everyone involved and I think it all turned out great!!! There were lots of fun booths to get our food and fun booths with activities for the kids to do 
and then there was a very nice program at the end. 
Meagan did all the work and preparation for the program for one of her 10 projects for her YW medallion. In all I think it was a great party.
. This is the one they put all their ornaments they have gotten through the years and any that we may have made.
This year Meagan got a cell phone ornament, (no question as to why) Heidi got a cute girl playing volleyball, Emma got a musical ornament that is a hippo that plays "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas". (She loves that song, so much that she sang it for the music classes talent show)
and Eric got a Scooby Doo ornament. 
It really looks quite cute and fun. Then on Sunday we decorated "Mom's boring" tree. 
It only has red and white decorations on it. 
It is very full and I think very beautiful. 
Lucky for me the kids liked it a lot this year too. We had tons of fun decorating both trees and we are definitely in the Christmas spirit and ready for Christmas!!!
