Train to Hong Kong

We wanted to take a trip during China's National Day Holiday.  We tried to find a place that was not too expensive for a family of six.  We found out that we could use frequent flyer miles from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. We just needed to get to Hong Kong and unfortunately flights there are quite expensive.  What could we do?  The kids are always asking to go on a train so we looked into it.  Train tickets are much cheaper.  The whole family could go for about the same price as one airplane ticket to Hong Kong.  We were excited.  We got on the train and had 1 1/2 rooms.

One room had 4 of us in it and the other room had Meagan and Heidi in it with 2 other women and a baby.

We had a great time reading, watching movies, playing gameboys and eating.  We loved the train and will probably take it again when we go to Beijing.

The scenery was just beautiful on the train ride also.  Here are a few pictures of what we got to see going out.
