We had to get up so early so we could drive the 2 1/2 hours back to Manila to catch our flight to BORACAY!!! We got to the airport in plenty of time only to be told that our flight had been cancelled and we were on the next flight in 3 more hours. Our kids are used to being in the car or waiting in airports so we sat down and the girls watched a movie and Eric watched Scooby Doo. There was this cute Chinese boy that kept looking over Eric's shoulder to watch the movie. He kept getting closer until he was sitting right next to Eric.

Then we got him some head phones so he could listen. I don't know how much he could understand but he sure did love Scooby Doo. We got on our flight that only took 45 minutes. The view from the plane was gorgeous!!! Don't you love the shadow of our plane in the ocean?

We landed at a place called Cataclan. Then we had all these men help us carry our luggage to a boat

and we took a 10 minute boat ride to Boracay.

We then got to go on a trike to our hotel. Actually we had to take 2 to fit all our luggage and all of us. There are no regular cars on Boracay. The only way to get around is by walking, motorcycle or the trikes.

The beach was gorgeous, sky blue and water clear.

We checked into our hotel and the kids quickly changed and we were at the beach. They loved swimming in the water

, playing in the sand,

burying people

and of course Emma had to make lots of new friends.

She saw this woman burying her husband and just started helping her so when Emma wanted to get buried the woman helped do that. The kids loved the beach and didn't want to leave. They wanted to stay and watch the sunset. It really was beautiful!!!

After the sunset we all got dressed and tried to find someplace to eat dinner. We saw this restaurant called "The Hobbit House".

All the people that worked there were "hobbits" or little people. Since Meagan and David love "The Lord of the Rings" we had to stop here.

It was funny that halfway through our dinner the principal and a few teachers from Meagan's and Heidi's school came with their families to eat there too. We had a great day and were exhausted when we went back to the hotel. Of course not too tired to watch a little Disney channel before going to bed.

That beach is gorgeous!! So hard to go from the warm sandy beaches back to cold Shanghai, huh? Glad your family had a great time there. Looks like I need to put another place on my must-see list.
That picture of the sunset could win an award!
